Production process of ethylene-octene copolymer

At present, the production of LLDPE/HDPE resin in the world usually adopts gas phase method and slurry method. Due to the high boiling point of 1-octene, ethylene/1-octene copolymer products are mainly produced by solution method. A small amount of gas phase method and slurry method have been improved and optimized to produce ethylene/1-octene copolymer polyethylene products.

In the solution process, DOW Chemical Company uses 1-octene as a comonomer in the low pressure solution process, and NOVA Chemical Company also uses 1-octene in the medium pressure solution process.
